With NSW being battered with more than double the average rainfall this month (the Sydney Observatory has recorded 266.8mm of water hitting the state and 19 days of rain. The average for March is just 129mm), it was clear that Ross Fitzpatrick's golf game was going to be put on hold with Sunday games.
This weekend saw the 5s away at North Ryde RSL and at home against Putney Tennyson and the 6s at home for two games against Wenty Leagues and Concord RSL.
In the 5s against North Ryde RSL, some big results and not all going West Pennant Hills's way. Kevin Tuckerman's team came away with a handy 27-18 win, while Michael Quinlan's team and Geoff McIntosh's team went down 10-27 and 15-27 respectively. The 5s took one point from this game losing the big board 72-57.
In the second game of the weekend, the 5s fared better with a 66-57 big board win over Putney Tennyson. Michael Quinlan's team got up 21-11, Kevin Tuckerman's team got up by 6 (26-20) and Geoff McIntosh's team went down 19-26.
In the 6s against Wenty Leagues, the final result was very close. Darrin Ede's team got the one point with a 19-14 win, while David Wilson's team and Ross Fitzpatrick's team went down 20-23 and 15-22 respectively. The 5s took one point from this game losing the big board by a small five shots 59-54.
In the second game of the weekend, the 5s fared the same with a 58-46 loss to Concord RSL. David Wilson's team got up 16-13, Darrin Ede's team went down by 7 (17-24) as did Ross Fitzpatrick's team who went down 13-21.
