The 7s continued a great season with another win while the 5s came so close to knocking over section leaders and cross-town rivals Pennant Hills.
In the 5s, we were at home against Pennant Hills. The Peter Eagle All-stars (Mike Brown, John Leonard, Rod Foster and Peter Eagle)faced off against former WPH President Warren Phillips. The All-stars had a tough day at the office but were able to come from behind to win 19-16. The David Wilson Warriors (Jeremy Thiedeman, Michael Schwarcz, Kevin Ross and I) took their game to the last end with the scores tied at 22-all. The second last bowl saw the Warriors take the win 23-22. The Kevin Tuckerman Kings (Les Watkins, Darrin Ede, Geoff McIntosh and Kevin Tuckerman) struggled in the middle of the game but finished well, recording a 20-26 loss. The 5s came within two shots of Pennant Hills on the big board going down 64-62 for an 8-2 loss. The 5s next game is away at Hunters Hill.
In the 6s, section leaders Wenty Leagues were the opponent. The Ross Fitzpatrick Rockets (Norm Jackson, Brian Joyce, Rod Gamble and Ross Fitzpatrick) went down 20-25. The Palm Pilots (Gary Tyrrell, Dom Surace, Ross Iredale and Dallas Palm) went down in a close loss 23-24 with the PVT Titans (Peter Boyd, David Howell, Don Couch and Paul van Tilburg) going down 8-31. The 6s took no points from yesterday’s game and will be looking to improve before their next game against NBC Sports at home.
The 7s recorded yet another great win, this time over the Hills with a big board win of 59-50. The Max Walters Marauders (Clive Donohoo, John Skidmore, Ian Corke and Max Walters) has a 20-16 win. Cole’s Crusaders (Steve Arnold, Doug McClymont, Merv Cannon and Bob Cole) had a small loss with a 18-20 result. Watto's Wanderers (Michael, Trimboli, Jim Ede, Barry Walker and Steve Watson) had a big win 21-14. The 7s claimed a 10-0 win. Their next game is at home to Toongabbie. The 7s have a comfortable 10 point lead in the section they are currently leading.
