Round 1 Update: 30/1/13

Interesting results today with 2 matches having very close finishes.

The match between Joan Ellem/Les Watkins and Kaye Eagle/Warren Phillips was point for point for the last few ends, with the scores level on 20 each at the end of 21 ends. After the toss, Kaye & Warren played first. After Warren's last bowl it looked to the assembled that they had managed to pinch a victory. They did not count on Les, and he used a little weight into the head to push Joan's bowl in to take shot, and victory. A great finish to the match.

The draw is now loaded to the site. Use this link to see results of games and who is lined up in the next rounds.

It's good to see the team of Veronica Doyle and Peter Eagle defending their title of the past 2 years. Can they make it a hat trick?

Can Rosemary & David Roles improve on their 2012 result and win the championship?

Whatever the results, I'm sure there will be some great games.
